The Fire Station shutters, London

Shutter completion and maintenance, Birmingham, Oxford, London

This week, SDI have been working around the UK. The image shown is of an extruded aluminium shutter we recently completed at the oldest fire station in Britain, now being converted into an art gallery. The new fire station is next door, and has been built in Peckham. These two shutters have been built in, so that the shutters went in first, then the entrance door ways have been crafted around them. We had to give specific instructions about the building works around the shutters, and cautionary warnings about how the building would need to consider shutter maintenance and inspection at a later date.
